Welcome to the forumn! assuming the stock wasn't cut, probably in the $200 - $240 range. If a M-12 is less than 90% it's value is more as a shooter, which no doubt yours is great at. I like to keep an M-12 that I don't have to baby. 16 guages are more valuable than they were 15 years ago. They weigh almost the same as 20 guages! Full chokes are not much appreciated anymore.

Good morning Havoc, welcome to the forum!! Well according to Dave Riffle, and his book on Md 12s, your gun was made in late 1926. (1926 S/Ns 423057-464654) 1927 is when Winchester started producing all Md 12's, (16 & 20ga) with a 2&3/4 in. chamber. (1927 started with S/N 464565). Over the years a lot of early guns were "opened up" by the factory or gunsmiths, the factory and most gunsmiths would stamp 2&3/4 on the barrel or near the serial number on the bottom of the receiver. If your gun has no marking what so ever, it's a good chance that it wasn't opened up, which means it's still original.

So with all that being said, Old Hickory is real close on a "shooter" Md 12. Not much demand on these with a short chamber. Usually a first or second year gun commands the most. As a gun I would broaden the range from $200-$325. As parts, meaning if you tore it down, and sold the parts off, $400 plus. But you never know! a few years ago I bought a 20ga from 1924, (short chanmber) all original about 80% and paid $425. for it, because I wanted one!! Then went out and bought a case of "short shells" and it is one sweet shooter!!

I think you will get your best price on the net, meaning put it up for auction here at GB, you might find a buyer who is looking for that vintage of Md 12! Hope this helps you. Regards Dave
