Leapers brand scope on SKS?

Do they have any kind of rep? I don't expect Zeiss quality at this price but have never heard of them. Are they total junk or what? I'm looking at this one

and thinking of putting it on a SKS. At 7 1/4 inches long will it need a deflector? What's the group consensus on this idea?

    never could get mine to hold zero and they aren't known for their quality---the usual complaints about cheeper chinese optics: some ok and will work, others pos.

    The real challange with scoping an SKS is getting a mount that is stable. The cover style mounts just move too much--I think that was the problem with mine. SOme companies are making a scout style set-up that replace the front sight block--that should work.

    you are better off leaving it iron sighted. It is not a target gun. I gave up on that idea a ways back. Put a scope or some money in something else you have. Not to discourage you,..but a good mount system installed by a smith will run the price of the rifle itself. I have the rear receiver mount and was unimpressed.

    why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

    Though this may not be helpful, I say skip the whole scope deal on an SKS.

    Though they aren't tackdrivers, SKSs will hold admirable groups at 100 yards but a scope isn't going to do much to help. The gun itself is too inherently inaccurate to be helped much by a scope.

    Just my 2 cents.
