Browning Vs. Weatherby
It has taken me awhile but I have narrowed down my rifle choice between Browning and Weatherby. I was wondering if anyone had a opinion on the Browning A-bolt series rifles compaired to the Weatherby Vanguard rifle. I have my hopes on the 270WSM caliber. Which one is the better, in accuracy, structural design and dependablilty. Thanks to all for the help on this subject.

I don't personally care for the Vanguard. If it was a Mark V, I'd tell you to go for it.

BOTH GOOD rifles. Just play with them at the store. Throw them up to your shoulder and then check how they feed the ammo if they will let you. Either way you will get a good rifle. Remember what was said above however, even the best make some not so good models so beware.

I love my Browning A-Bolt .270.Especially the 60 degree bolt throw.As far as accuracy goes,mine's doin' about 1/2" at 100 yds with factory ammo(If I do my part).That's with a Leupold VX II 3-9x50.
Isn't the Vanguard made by Howa or somebody?

browning the 60 degree throw is great, accuracy is great and the all around gun is very good. Depending on what cal. you are lookin for I would also take a look at Sig. 0 -
I have an A-bolt II in 300WSM. Its very accurate, mine shoots less than 1/4"@200 yards consistently. It will shoot bullets through the same hole. Its hard to find anything better then the Browning. I really like the 60 degree bolt throw also. Its barrel is free floated, and everything else is very solid. Go with the Browning you won't regret

The Vanguard series of Weatherby's are pure junk. The Browning is a much better built gun as well as a shooter.
