Has anyone ever fired or own a Bersa

I have put rounds down range with both the Thunder 45 and the 380. Prefer the 45 (personal choice) but both worked just fine. It is an inexpensive (not CHEAP) pistol, but it (.45) handled all types of ammo fed to it without a malfunction. That included some 230 grain ball, 230 grain SJHP, some Winchester PDA and some reloads. It has the ambidextrous safety, which was handy since the gun's owner shoots left handed and I shoot right handed, though the slide release is set for a right handed shooter. Not a lot of muzzle hop, less actually than I expected.
It will be my next pistol purchase...if that gives you a clue as to how I felt about the performance.

I have had a Bersa .380 for about six years and am always delighted with it's performance when I take it out for a "test run"! It's my standard front line defence when the sun goes down as it resides on my night stand. I have never had a misfire or a jam with it and it is above average for accuracy[:)]

Inexpensive import. And as said above not made with low quality materials.
I've fired the pistols at least 4 times over the years and as I recall 3 of those times was different 380's ranging from basically new to one with a lot of rounds through it.
All functioned fine and accuracy was about what you can typically expect from pistols that size.
However, as a carry piece ... I'd have to have a lot more trigger time with a lot of different ammo before I was comfortable enough to use one for carry. Probably just a "me" thing ... I expect both primary and backup guns to go bang when they are called on so I have to be comfortable with them.
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!0 -
I had one in 380 , sold it because i felt it was bigger than it needed to be for the size of shell, purchased a KelTec to replace it , but it did shoot every thing I fed it 0 -
I had a .380. It's a good little gun. Only reason I got rid of it was because I wanted a .45. 0 -

gotta chim in to and repeate what's been said.....Buy one, buy two. They are in my opinion the best value for a small sized pistol there is and in some regards one of the best small CCW sized pistols out there. I had one, picked up a ten round clip with the extended finger rest and it was awsome. Fit my hand great and with 10 rounds of 380 I felt pretty well protected. Never a single FTE of FTF no matter what crappy ammo or HP I tried. Couldn't say the same thing about my Walther. The Bersa was pretty accurate as well...again, more so than my Walther.
Wished I never sold it. But, I could say that about most of the guns I've sold. After selling that bersa to pay some bill, I resolved to live on rice and water before I sold another gun I liked.0 -
I've had my Bersa Thunder 45 since March '04. Put about 300 rounds through it. Doesn't seem to be loosening up excessively yet. It is more accurate than I am capable of taking advantage of (if you know what that means). Only had one misfeed and it was on one of American Ammo's frangible rounds. I usually put one of those in the pipe and fill the magazine with 230 gr ball. Never had a misfeed on ball. I've sold four of them new in the box since March and not had a single complaint from a customer yet. I carry it daily, mostly in a "Day Planner" but also in a Smart Carry or an Uncle Mike's ankle rig, and occasionally in a UM paddle holster. I like it a lot for the money. Mine's in matte finish that seems to be holding up well. 0 -
Got a 380 right now. Good little gun to stick in the console of the dually. A little big framed but great shooter and just right for my hands. If I was to want one to conceal carry I would pick a smaller 380 though IMHO.
