Colt SAA
Hi. What, if any are the differences in the cylinder locking bolt between the second and third generation colt SAA? Thanks.

Hello,
I just had a few questions about a Colt SAA first generation that I have had locked away for quite a few years. The gun was my father in laws, he passed away many years ago. I finally got around to looking into the gun and possible selling it. First I contacted Colt and obtained all the information via there archive service that I could. The serial # for the gun is 102863. The information that we obtained from Colt states the gun had a 7 1/2 inch barrel with a blue finish, .45 caliber. The gun in it's current state has a nickel finish and a 4/3/4 inch barrel. Obviously the gun has been reworked. How does this affect the value and is there anyway to identify who did the work and when? Any information would be appreciated. I attached a couple of pictures also. Thanks for all the help.

Hello Rampant colt in circle intro at serial 135,000. Loading gate number is assm. no. should be stamped on frame visable with trigger guard removed Value ????? need to have in hand or pictures and then 10 people will give you 10 prices. Dug up piece value ????? I know this is almost no help but you need someone to look at gun in person. 0 -
What about caliber, barrel lenght, Model. Be a little more specific and post a pic or 2.

No offer to sell, buy or trade was intended here. My friend has had inquirys from family members and friends that want to purchase the guns. Unfortunately due to the deceased persons final health care bills and burial expenses, he must get about as much as he can from the sale of these items.
The guns will be sold locally. An FFL holder friend has offered to do all transfers for $1 each.
Both guns have 4 3/4" bbls. The nickel plated piece is marked 44 cal. and is centerfire. The rough one is large bore, probably 44 or 45 cal.0 -

I'll give a shot in the dark. Maybe this reply will attract some useful info from those who are closer to the buy/sell scene. I have one buffed and nickeled dating close to yours, mine probably a bit better. S/N the same in all the proper places and all markings readable, altho faint in places, perfect bore, replaced grips also. Was offered $1500 for it. The second piece might bring $500-800 depending on hands-on look see. 0 -

I don't think he was telling playthings the forum rules, as it was capt kirk that edited his post...I'm thinking that it was chris that offered to buy the pistols mabye and kirk was giving chris the message "no offers to buy/sell/trade" on the forums.
Playthings, what caliber are these pistols and barrel lengths? I would probably say that from what you describe you are probably not looking at a whole lot of value in those pistols (probably under $800), but every detail helps in determining a fair price range.of our country.0
