Help Identifiy a Budapest M95
I have a Straight pull back bolt m95 rifle need help identifing.
As far as caliber, make etc... Just in front top it says Budapest
and below that is M95. Above that on the barrel is stamped with an
oversized H. On the side is a side ways M. on the side of the barrel
is stamped with a crest and a side ways E. Any help would be great.

I recently went through this exercise. I purchased a "lot" of gunparts and guns ... one of the items was one of these rifles. I didn't have a clue as to what it was.
After some scratching around I learned that it was a Steyr Model 95 and that they originally were chambered for 8x50r and then later many were modifed for an 8x56r "spitzer" type bullet and from that point forward they were chambered in the 8x56.
Supposedly there will be a large letter "S" stamped on the receiver ring if the rifle has been rechambered.
I'm really not into the older Military rifles so I can't offer much more, but I hope this helps you some and there is a bit more on the internet, following is a link on dis-assembly and re-assembly that I found when I was scratching around.
