Browning Buckmark
Saw a Buckmark Classic Plus at Bass Pro today. Looks like a nice gun,but I've never shot one. I usually shoot High Standards and Rugers,but am looking for something different.Anybody have any experience or opinions on this gun,good or bad? This might be my "to me,from me" Christmas present this year.I would appreciate any input,thanks.

I have a Browning Buckmark and I'm starting to get a lot of misfires that will fire in my Ruger.It really doesn't have that many rounds through it but I suspect a firing pin change would help.Is this a repair that I can do our should I take it to a gunsmith? The firing pin strikes very high on the rim.Great pistol and very accurate. Thanks 0 -
I bought a used one about 6 mo. ago, I like it have tryed several brands of ammo and not one jam, shoots better than I can, Mine does not say classic.[:D] 0 -
Good pistols. Not fussy about ammo and the age generally very accurate "out of the box". However, w/ that said ... you may want to shop around as I've found that Bass Pro prices aren't always all that good. Like most any retailer ... they have their "loss leaders", competitive points and "fat margin" items, and like with all retailers I shop around some ...

Bot one some years ago...have had only one problem with it...the "buffer" disintegrated on it and had to be replaced...the buffer cushions the slide from striking the rear of the pistol and it was not a big issue to repair...other than that it has been trouble free, durable, and simple to disassemble. A very nice pistol. 0 -
If it is the Buckmark Classic Plus, it has the glo front sight and rosewood grip slabs. Try a search here on GB for Buckmarks. You may find a better price or a model (there are piles of variations of Buckmark, with differing barrels, gripslabs etc.) If nothing else it will give you a good price comparison. I have a pair of Buckmarks, one a challange, the other with laser ingraved walnut grips. If you like high standards, you should like the Buckmarks. They are much like the Colt Woodsman in feel and have good accuracy, easier to clean than the Rugers, and way better looking. 0 -
I've got two (one's my wife's). Great little pistols and wouldn't trade them for nothing. But, like Contender Man said do some shopping you can probably find one for less money.

Nice pistol, easy to clean which was my main reason for choosing it over the Ruger MkII

Not an expert, but I've owned a Buck Mark Bullseye for 2 mos. Much more accurate than I am, no malfunctions at all (though I've only fired about 300 rounds so far). Great trigger.

I just got one a few weeks ago.It's the Target model which came w/a 5.5" bbl,but it's been fitted with the 14" bull bbl.and a Tasco Pro Class scope.Haven't had time to really ring it out yet,but what little I have shot it has been very impressive.[^]
I think it's gonna make my Competition model MkII jealous.[:D]

I've had a standard Buckmark for about five years and i'ts still waiting for me to catch up with it, ability that is. I'ts a much better shooter than I am. Very pleased with it.
