Norma powder
I can't seem to find a dealer that has Norma R1. I called RWS in Closter, NJ , listed as THE distributor and their number was disconnected.
Any help out there?

Until I got a couple of the short barrel Keltecs, Bullseye was fast enough. I think a pound or two would go a long way.
In the early '80s I did some new cartridge development and have some data sheets from Hornady using this powder in the .380. They supplied me freebe plated bullets. Since this powder is still listed on burning rate charts, I assumed it was not obsolete.

HELLO v35 I used to do alot of testing mostly in 45acp on a ransom rest and had many left over powders,sorry I checked and have about 1/4 pound left.of your norma I am not sure but I think VITARVORI 310 is the same powder made in the same plant as the old norma powder. I used to test 380acp and have a truncated 95 gr. mould block that shoots great at 50 yards. I was going to build a 1911 in 380 for bulls-eye shooting but never finished the project.Cheers Karl 0 -

Thanks for the lead on Vihtavuori. Their website allows one to print out a loading manual. An up to date burning rate chart is included, showing their N310 a little slower than R1. However, Clays Int. is equal to R1 and Clays is faster.
Their manual shows serious loads for 9mm and 357SIG that I will probably try out.
These powders are available in my area.
I wasn't anxious to get involved with their powders but the hot pistol loads look interesting.
The .380 loads are for defensive purposes only, not bullseye. I'm looking to maximize its' effectiveness out of a 2 7/8" locked breech Keltec barrel. Likewise the 9mm & 357Sig will be coming out of 3 1/8 and 3 1/4 inch barrels respectively.
