Mark, Many thanks for your continued attention to my questions, I apperciate the fact that you seem to help me whenever you can.

I have been looking at a lot of sources for AK builds using parts sets and 80% receiver flats. I have a couple of AMD-65 I'm planning on building as pistols, was wanting to finish a couple of folding stock AKs as well, but am not particular to any authenticity. Of course, you know, the typical suppliers of parts sets have begun saying it is not legal to use the barrels for the sets to build rifles. It looks like I will have to make these a mixed bag of parts from different countries, but aren't they all now, with required US compliance parts?

Found some MAK90 parts sets for $99, no trigger guard,

    Found trigger guards for $8

Found some more AMD-65 parts sets for $80, (those TAPCO kits were excellent, have two of those)

Found some "never installed in trunion" Romanian barrels for $50,

Figure I will buy plenty of the US compliance parts to make them legal, such as folding stock, grips, etc.

I already have US compliant trigger group for two rifles.

Interesting tidbit, the law requiring compliance parts apparently only applies to rifles and shotguns. Apparently, pistols can be built with all imported parts!

So, discounting the two pistol builds I have going, plan on building a couple of folders using US made folding stocks, handguards, grips, etc.

But it looks like it is nearly impossible to build one of these (at least legally) using parts from only one supplier,

Am thinking about buying the MAK90 sets, and using Romanian Barrels, and US parts, or..

maybe buy the AMD-65 sets, and buy extra Romanian barrels, some US parts,

Anyway, as always, thanks for your continued expert advice.

I was out your way a couple of times, but up around Van Nuys and North Hollywood, so didn't call.

I will be going to the Philippines in December, and Malasia in February. If you can think of any souveniers you want me to bring back, let me know!
