Lance, first off, edit your post to remove at least the last three digits of the S/N (thus: 123,xxx). It's highly unlikely anyone needs that specificity to help you and there are all sorts of unfortunate things which can happen if the wrong people have the data. Remove it from the header, also. NOW.

Come on fellas ... question asked, post hijacked.

Hello, and welcome to the forum!

    Now to your question ...

From the s/n info given you have a 38 Military and Police, Model of 1905 1st or 2nd Change mfg. between 1906 and 1909.

The s/n range is 73251 to 146899 with overlap between the 1st and 2nd changes, but the extent of the overlap is not in any of my reference material, so you would need to contact S&W for a factory letter. You will need to give them the "full" serial number and $30 which would add to the value of your revolver as it resolves the question.

Now for value ... in top condition $300-400 unless it is a target model (adjustable rear sight is the giveaway) which would be much more valuable.

    Hope this helps.

If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!
