m1a scope mounts
Hi, i have been having some problems with my current scope mounts on my m1a, after firing about 20, maby 30 shots the screw starts to loosen, is there any way to remedy this?, does the new "3rd generation" scope mount fix this problem? and does anyone else have this problem also?
Thanks,
Martin Janczak

I have the third Gen. I does take some time for them to seat about 80 rounds on mine. Shoot 20 re-torque them (a Little). You will feel when its right. Main thing is don't wrench on it!!, You may get 1/8 to 1/4 turns after shooting. Some put locktite on them but it's not nessary.

so even with the new scope mount your still having to retighten it? the only reason im really even mad at this is becaus eit messes up my shots, when its not on there really good. Thanks 0 -
Yep, But don't worrie it will settle in it takes time. A little tweek after a few rounds it will settle. you will find a point that it is snug but not over tight. Don't rush it. or over torque, I have seen more people just wrench on them and the snap off the screw. Don't do that! [:D][;)]
Think mine quit after about 100-150 rounds.

The only good scope mounts for M14-clones are those from A.R.M.S. & Brookfield.
