Does it say 30-06, or could it have been rechambered to 8mm-06 (sounds like a origional Mauser military barrel)?
    Anything other markings than Czechoslovakia?
Can you post a photo or 2?

Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.

The barrel says "3006". I suppose it could be a non-original barrel.

I will take a picture or two tonight. I don't believe there are any other markings on the gun...

    Thanks

Ok, I looked at the rifle more carefully over lunch. It says "MOD. 1908/34" on one side of the receiver. The other side says, "CESKOSLOVENSKA ZBROJOVKA, AS, BRNO". The Barrel says 3006 and has a crown stamped on it. On the barrel or the receiver, I can't remember which, it says "W 4860 T". The "W" is curvy shaped and the "T" in inside of a circle.

    Thanks for the help.

It sounds like a Mauser type action with the original stepped barrel.
If the bores nice, and it shoots well it would be worth the $200.00 to you as a shooter.

Gun control is hitting what your aiming at.

YOUR BRNO WAS PROBABLY A 8MM TO START AND THEN HAD A FINNISH REPLACEMENT BARREL INSTALLED (the finn's rebarreled a lot of german 8MM's after the war) and you could buy surplus replacement barrels several years ago
