    I believe this is the same Simson as the Luger contractor. Simson was know for being something of the "Mossberg" of austrian arms makers, producing good, utilitarian firearms in general and as evidenced by your fine looking rifles, made a number of higher quality guns as well. Looks to me as though this is a "boys" or "Rook" rifle that was made for diminutive or younger shooters. Not too sure as to the caliber, but I would assume if you looked in cartridges of the world, you might get a little insight.

    a small sized, "boys" takedown rifle
    is the BBL rifled or smoothbore???
    is it a manual cocker???
    the double set triggers and bolt handle may indicate a higher grade than standard, but even the base level / grade models were mildly embelished and came with features not often seen in this hemisphere.

    i would put your gun (in NRA EXCELLANT) in the $150.00-$225.00 range if you can locate an interested collector.

    More info:

    Rifled barrel, not manual cocker, not takedown.

    Marked 5.3mm and shoots .22s just fine.

    According to my reference, your rifle was made by Simson in 1932. It was known as the "New Model". The double set trigger was a optional feature,that is not commonly found on .22 single shots.As Simson went out of business shortly after your rifle was produced, your rifle should be considered a collectors piece.

    I also have a similar rifle, unfortunately minus the bolt. I don't know exactly what the bolt looks like, would really appreciate if someone could post a photo of the bolt, or if anyone has a bolt they would consider selling I would be happy to follow-up.

    My rifle is marked 5.4 mm, barrel is rifled, single shot, not adjustable trigger, S/N 973xx
