30-06 loads
i took the 06 to the range today and i wasnt that impressed like i said earlier i was not too consistant the load i was shooting today was 55.7 gr of imr4350 with 150 hornady spitzers with poor groups i am going back to the drawing board i was thinking imr4064 with the same 150 gr sp or i was even thinking the 165 btsp. i strictly use the gun for deer in pa if i decide to switch to the 165 boat tail spitzer what can i expect to find out. what does the boat tail spitzer do differently then the regular spitzer? and is it a good idea to try the 165 btsp?

Looking to see if anyone has any data for reloading the 30-06 with W760 or Reloader 22...........
Going to use 155 gr Noslers and 165 gr Hornadys.......

You don't find much reloading data for the powders that you list because there are better choices. You do not say what type of action you are reloading for. If you are reloading for any semi-auto action, the powders that you have picked are to slow in burning rate and may damage the gas system. The .30-06 performs best, with the light weight bullets that you listed, with powders of medium burning rate.
Powders that I would recommend would include: IMR-4895,IMR-3031, IMR-4350, WW-748, AA-2015, H-414 or BLC-2. My personal favorites are IMR-4895 which is the original powder for the G.I. 150 grain bullet and for bullets of 180 grains or heavier I like IMR-4350.

I have had very much success with 50gr.of WW748 powder with 150 Nosler bullets.In the Winchester manual they recommend 748 for this caliber.The load I mentioned has worked very well in Rem. semi's and pumps also.Just my two cents worth,Bob. 0 -
you need different powder. Buy some IMR4350 or RL19 or Varget.
why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

cant help you with your specific request, however 53 grains of 4064 with 150's will give you 3000 fps with excellent accuracy with hornadys and 57 grains of 4350 will give you 2800 fps with 165's and is also very, very accurate, at least in my '06...be aware that these are considered max loads in many references ! 0 -

Thanks to all for your help........been reloading for quite awhile, just poking around with some new stuff.......will go back to my 4064 and 4895....thanks again....

There is data in the newest Nosler Manual for RL22 and 165's. It can be substituted for the 165 Hornadys but start low and work your way up. It loads very fast ( Max. load listed at a shade over 3000 fps with the Nosler 165's ). I don't use w760 for these so don't remember about data for it or for 150 gr and RL22......good luck........[8D] 0
