Walther P22 Re-Assembly
OK fellow P22 owners, what's the secret to getting this thing back together after field stripping for cleaning? Anyone else having problems with the recoil spring and guide being a P.I.T.A.?

I took my wife's apart once about a year and a half ago and it took me 45 minutes to get it back together. Now I just spray it with gunscrubber.
I recall having to use a knitting needle to guide the spring and recoil assembly into the hole.

You are using that lil piece of plastic rod about 1.5-2" long to reassemble? Packed seperate, possibly under the foam in the box.
If not your beating yourself up.
Any way the lil plastic rod is a gudie that fits into the front of the muzzle at the recoil spring hole, this holds the recoil spring in place to help in the assembly.
Yep its shown in the Owners manual.[:D]

I wondered what that was for--now I won't swear so much when I reassemble the little beauty. Whe all else fails, read the instructions!

Try both ends of the rod. I found with the two that I have had that one side fits through the hole a little easier. 0 -
