Ak-47 Question

Hi,

I'm buying another AK-47 in a week or so. So I started looking around and have come down to two gun dealers I want to buy from. One dealer has a Romanian and the other has a Bulgarian, and both makes are the same price.

So my question is witch make is better, Romanian or Bulgarian?

    I AM LOOKING TO BUY A AK-47 7.62X39, MY QUESTION IS WHICH ONES ARE BEST, IE. RUSSIAN,ROMANIAN,CHINESE,ETC.. SHOULD I GO NEW OR USED AND WHAT IS A GOOD PRICE FOR A GOOD QUALITY AK?

    a stove pipe is when the spent cartridge gets stuck in the action, sticking straight up in the air,(like a stove pipe). the spent case fails to eject from the gun, may be caused by bad ejector, or operator error, not holding the gun tight when shot. Clearing usaully involves only manually cycling the action. sometimes you need to clear the new round that is trying to load in the chamber from the magazine and remove the magazine to cycle the action.


    Happens alot in semi auto pistols.

    If you managed to get an ak to jam I think IMHO there are two issues:
    1. Clearing the immediate jam is simple: clear it like you would any other "stovepipe"--a swift but firm hand sweep over the top of the casing and watch your finger as the bolt should slam home after its cleared.

    2. If it is happening with any regularity, then something needs to be cleaned (extractor) or something is not working right (mag) or ammo is bad. Try a different mag and different ammo and give the thing a good cleaning and it should stop. Aks are ugly (imho beautifully so) and relatively inaccurate but the trade-off is supposed to be absolute functionality. All of mine have never once jammed nor has any of my buddies.

    What kind of Ak is it.....wasr?????

    I second that.. Neither have any of my SKS rifles or carbines.. Some things just flat out work..

    If you are asking what a stove pipe jam is, then how do you know you have a stove pipe jam? My guess is someone in passing said it's stov pipping? An ak very, very rarely has this problem. I'm with ker2222 on this damaged extractor or bad mag. Has the mag been modified?....ie....new floor plates & follower? I'd look there if they have. My Tapco follower had to be ground down a bit to work properly.
