Found an Enfield at work today, coworker needed cash. I bought the one that is marked RIFLE

It has a full stock, detachable magazine, bayonet mount, sling. What does anyone know about it?? Is it safe to shoot?? I don't have pictures yet, the digital camera is acting up today.

It's the Ishapore made Enfield. It was made in India. It is chambered in 308, and is a very good rifle.
