NFA Upper

OK...I have a AR-15 that was legally converted to full auto capability.
Since it was .223 at the time it was registered as an NFA weapon, does that preclude me from legally changing the upper to a different caliber?

  Mudge, sir,
  Called my local class III dealer. He advises that the lower is the registered assembly with registered sear, and that upper swaps are perfectly legal.

  I appreciate that info. Thanks. Got the idea when I saw an AR-15 type rifle in .45acp at a gun show.

  Check the weapon description on your paperwork. The gun is registered exactly as described. I do not beleive you can make any changes to the gun without changing the description on the paperwork.
