question about removing sights

I have a remington 760 that I've installed low profile scope mounts. The reason for this is the stock is not a monte carlo stock and my natural vision point is lower. I was wondering if I remove the "iron sights" is there anyway to fill the tapped holes? I was thinking about flush scews.

  Buy a extra set and have them shaved down.

  let a smith do it for a few extra bucks it will look much better - dont want that to be the first thing someone notices when they see your gun (or you for that matter)
