Oh, and Bobski and Perry, I'm in New Jersey. Not all that far from VA. If you are not careful, I just might take you up on that invitation [;)]

what exit? i use to be at exit 88 off gsp![:p] you are exactly 8 hours from here. ok, you need slant grip large button mags. early ones were steel followers. then they switched to light green followers with 104 series. all work. the add that says 'for slant grip will fit duramatic' is what you need. just make sure you buy REAL NOS or used hi standard mags, not aftermarket ones.

That's Seaside Heights, isn't it? I'm 50 miles north of there, just about at exit 142 and a bit west.

So, this listing from Brownells is what I need?

    Mfr: HIGH STANDARD
    FITS: Duramatic/Plinker/Sears "JC Higgins Mod 80", .22

yep. i had a apt next to toms river yacht club when i was stationed in lakehurst n.j. 08733 in 79-82. hmm, 50 miles & west, sounds like youre up near the race track and then over on the 195(?) connector? i would suggest checking the auctions for original mags. brownells might have stocked their shelf with aftermarkets.

Actually, up by Newark Airport and West on I-78.

I'm not sure what you mean by aftermarket. The manufacturer on those is High Standard. But I would prefer to find an auction anyway. Probably save a few bucks. The new ones are $32.

ah....waaaay up there towards penn. to go home, i go njp to gsp at exit 11 i believe. thru newark, and take it to 287 across tappan zee to 684 north to 84 east. i grew up around the old hamden hi std plant. high standard is still in business. it retooled in 94 and is in texas. see: www.highstandard.com. brownells is probably stocking new houston mags. anything NOT HAMDEN is considered aftermarket.[:p] bill elliot may have some NOS hamden mags upon request. go thru www.highstandard.com and ask for elliotts number. he bought all of the remains of hi std in 84. he might have some. otherwise, auctions are the only way.

Didn't find any on auction. Will keep looking.

I'll probably get a couple of the mags from Brownels just so I can shoot. Can't deal with one magazine, spend too much time reloading.

    I'll try Bill Elliot, too.

actually, if youre gonna do matches, the timing of loading the mag is part of the routine. but if youre just plinking, i can understand. they should work. just make sure they arent the 'military versions' with the mag extension on the bottom.
