JUDGE COLT ace barrels

Hello It looks like we were both partly right and slightly wrong .Now if you will bear with me I have one more question on the Pre War colt "ACE" with the washers on the recoil spring guide. On all I have and ever seen the barrels have a machined slot for the milled ejector how ever I picked up a barrel That I feel 99&44/00 % sure is factory it has in smal scrip stamped along the side of chamber area "colt ace 22 match" also where the slide stop pin goes through the barrel it is a compleat hole and a small projection to fit in the small cut in the frame at bottom of locking lug area . Do any of your colt "ACE" barrels have 22 match stamped on them??? thanks Karl

  perry shooter, the barrel you describe does not sound like a Colt item to me. I have never seen an Ace barrel with the stamping you describe, nor the full hole in the barrel lug. My first year Ace barrel does not have such markings nor a full hole in the lug. It sounds like a replacement barrel, perhaps from one of the Non-Colt rimfire conversion makers. Of course, I could be wrong, and I have eaten enough crow for a while.
