Sears/Mossberg bolt recall

The moderator of the general discussion board has a JC Higgins model 583.20 bolt action shotgun on the block (ending soon). In the description he says that Sears is offering $160 "bounty" on the bolts out of this model gun due to a safety recall. A search turned up this link:

Is this problem peculiar to the Mossberg guns made for Sears?
It seems to me that if these models had the problem then the comparable Mossberg labeled guns might be at risk too.

As far as I know, it's just the Sears shotguns and does not involve any firearms sold under the Mossberg name. I have a 16 ga. one but I guess it is only the 12 ga. under recall.
There is really nothing wrong with these guns that one couldn't fix(it just needs a screw replaced).

Has nothing to do with Mossberg at all. The guns were made by High Standard.

Now that surprises me. I made the erroneous assumption that the Mossberg model numbers 83, 183, etc were reflected in the Sears model numbers. After reviewing the pictures on the one Nunn has on the block, I see that the safety lever is not in the same position as the Mossberg guns.
