bobski, perry shooter - High Standard ?

Have been following your responses in the previous post, "Trophy or Citation 102 or 103", with great interest.
I have recently purchased a Trophy, model 107, s/n 1973840, with the 7.25" fluted barrel. When checking ebay for an extra magazine, found the following barrel:[url][/url]http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7112188767&ssPageName=STRK:MEBI:IT[url][/url]
Don't know if this link is inserted correctly and will work.
It's a new "space gun " barrel. I always thought they were unique looking. It has a Hamden address. Would this fit and function on my High Standard pistol??

    Hello as stated Most H.S. barrels made after 1958 should work on any frame until they went to the allen screw .However some times there might be very minor work done to the locking stud some times the push in plunger will not return all the way. Be aware "SPACE GUN " BARRELS have both the front and rear sights on them . If your slide or frame has a rear sight???? you will need to remove one If you shoot N.R.A. bulls-eye you can only have 10 inches or less between sights to be legal. I need your Ebay name from you and BOBSKI so I won't bid against you. You know what mine is its the same on all sites.     perry shooter - Congrats on the Perry shoot, doubt if it was luck! I too use the same name on ebay, it was set up by my wife who bought old dolls and childrens toys.
    Although I have bid on the H. S. barrel, I am not the current high bidder. I would not be offended if you bid against me, don't know the value or my level of interest. Would rather see a member of the Gunbroker family get than a foreigner.
    I have had an HD model for about 20 yrs., but just got the 107. My 107 has the rear sight bridge on the frame, am not interested in removing it. I probably would not shoot N.R.A. bullseye competition.
    That would be just too embarassing.
    How do the sights attach to this barrel?
    Would it have the same high polish finish as my Trophy frame?
    The barrel that's on the 107 now will shoot better than I can hold.

    ive been watching this bbl auction. let me tell you about it. it was designed for 107 and newer guns. the trigger logo is the givaway. i have one. i bought one years ago it but it DID NOT just drop in. the breech face had to be machined to fit the frame. the lug had to be installed and fitted. note, this bbl doesnt have the lug pin. they did away with it to save on costs, so the lug is just twisted in and thats it. depth hasnt been checked and fit cant be guarenteed. the front blade dovetail is sometimes NOT cut at the right angle to accept the front blade. gunpartscorp has the front blades, but sometimes they just dont go in. face it, its a parts project and its NOT easy to get it running. PASS ON IT! i dumped over 115.00 in parts to get mine going, which included the bbl.

    oh, i forgot to mention why that bbl was even made. slant grip owners that had sights on the slide complained about not being able to get the extra length on their guns, since ALL 8" and 10" bbl guns made had sights ON THE BBL. so, around the 104 series, hi std made that 8" bbl as an option for slant grip owners with guns with sights on the slide. the people rejoiced. but, then they dropped the gun all together and went to military grips! such is life.

    Thought I'd found something of interest, but will pass on the bbl, and continue searching for a magazine.
    Have had the 107 to the range twice now and really have enjoyed it. Don't know why it took me so long to get a H.S. hammerless, have S&W 41, Colt Woodsman Match Target, Colt Woodsman, Sig Treailside Competition, Browning Challenger III, H.S. HD & Ruger Mark II. The 107 is rapidly becoming the favorite of the bunch.

    ive owned or still own all the guns you mentioned, and none of them have such easy controls as the h.s. none of the guns you mentioned have both sear and trigger backlash so easily accessable, nor push button takedown bbls as easy as the h.s.. believe it or not, your 107 with the fluted bbl is a nail driver. its bit heavy for me, but for some its ok. as i get older, it seems all thoe 4.5" bbls start making sense. [:(] glad we can help.
