M1D sight in issues
Was attempting to sight in my M1D with its M84 scope Saturday and just couldn't get it any closer than about 24 inches high with the elevation bottomed out at 200 yards. Was using ball ammo but even with the top of the vertical crosshair at 6 oclock in the black it was still that far off. Any thoughts on some magic to drop the groups another 25-30 inches? Beach
P.S. Anyone else have this problerm with their M1D? Beach

You can get SOME additional adjustment out of an M84.
Take a large (disposable) screwdriver & grind out the center to make a "spanning" screwdriver that will loosen the outer nut on each turret. If the fit is not exact, it will bugger the nut. Once the nut is loose, you can turn the adjustment knob past the detent & get another complete adjustment range. Re-tighten the nut. You should be able to do this 2-3 times.

BEACH...
we had a similar problem with the M84 on our M1-D SF(SPECIAL FORCES). we sent the scope out to a former MARINE armorer who refurbished and re-adjusted it from top to bottom at a super low price.
he was recomended by a GCA member and rather famous author, and he runs adds in the GCA magazine.
he purchased about 500 M84`s that had been demilled (they cut them in half!!!) from the GOV. so he has all the parts...
if you need his info, or email addy contact me at the shop at waltsgun@aol.com and i will send it out ASAP...
he is probably one of the top experts in this field, and he may have a simple answer for you...
best regards, mike.
