Colt Python with nickel finish???
Could anyone tell me the last time the Colt Python 6 inch was manufatured with the nickel finish?
Shopping for a Remington 700 yesterday at a local shop and saw one NIB in the display counter. Afraid to ask about it due to the weak moments I suffer from. It was priced way under what I see here.

Mark's right. 1985 is the last year nickel Pythons were catalogued. Ultimate stainless was on the scene that year.
I happen to like those nickel Pythons too. I have a 6" just like Mark's. I'd like to have a 2 1/2. Don't know why....just because!0 -
Thanks for the info. Does anyone have a Blue book? Would like to know value if possible. I am going back today to pick up a Rem 700VS and will inquire about price.

According to the Blue Book, the nickel finish was discontinued in 1985.
Blue Book value:
100% - $995
98% - $825
95% - $675
Add 10% for NIB condition
Add 10% for satin nickel finish0 -
$999.00......asked for a better deal due the the fact I just spent $1300.00 in his shop. Offered $900, refused. Oh well. 0
