Best 7mm Rem mag ammo??
Ok, haven't had a 7mm in years. Back then I loaded my own and found out the hard way that 162 gr, BTHP and BTSP match ammo could shoot 1/4 inch groups but weren't worth a damn for hunting.
Just bought an old 700 ADL with recoil pad and a cheap 3x9x40 scope for $300. How could I pass on that? Yeah, it's got a couple of spots on it and the stock is splotchy but the bore looked excellent. Doesn't have to be pretty to shoot well.
So, what's the best bang for the buck in factory ammo? What do you use and have been happy with for snuffing Bambis?

The best ballistics will be the Remington accutips or Sciroccos in the 150 grain. As for what your gun will prefer, that will only be found by trying different bullets and loads.

For Busting Bambis, My 7mm mag Likes the Rem,Express Core-lokt/ 175gr soft point. My win70 avg's just over 1 1/2in groups(3rds) on the bench at 100yrds. With the 165's I get about the same group size but, I Have the extra "Knock Down power of the 175's.

Thx, guys. I've used 150 Nosler ballistic tips before in a hand load, haven't tried them from a factory load before. Never used a 175 gr. but I can certainly appreciate the knock down potential. If I decide to keep it I may trick it out and find the best one out of five or so factory loads for it. 0 -

Better be careful with those numbers. I used the same load (except in the Gold box) for the last 5 years. Those pills left the barrel at ~3180-3190fps, as you would expect with the 3110fps rating on the box, and their test barrel being 24" and mine 26". The NEW Vital Shock ammo,..with the same load leaves my tube at barely 3050fps. I am still trying to talk with one of their reps about this. We are playing phone tag. I would LIKE to think that I just got a slow batch,..but I am afraid their is a coporate lawyer involved somewhere.
They are still the most accurate load out of my rifle without handloading[8D]
why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....
