    On the post '64's they used cheaper materials in some cases and production expedient measures as well. One of the quick references is the link pin on the bottom of the lever that is a rolled spring pin on post 64's and a solid pin on the pre's. There are many other differences that I hope the real Winchester guys can point out to you.
