If you are loading on a single stage press, you just need to adjust your seating die.If loading on a progressive, you also need to adjust the powder dispenser. If single stage, still make sure you adjust your powder charge to accomodate for the lighter bullet.

Check the overall length of your round with the lighter bullet. It may change slightly due to the different shape of some weight bullets. If it has a crimping groove you may have to adjust the body of the seating die slightly to crimp in the right place. The sizeing and flaring of the case adjustments should stay the same on those dies...............good luck..........[8D]

No crimping groove so that isn't an issue. But these are considerably shorter bullets than the 158s. It sounds like I don't really need to make any adjustments?

Sally, You just need to adjust the bullet seating stem down a little for the shorter bullets. The main die should remain set where it was if you are seating and crimping in the same operation.

Since overall length is not real critical with revolver ammo, you can just eyeball it. I would suggest checking the overall length in your loading manual and seating it at or about there.

    Sally,
You just need to turn the seater screw into the die further until the bullet is in the case where you want it.
If you measure the seater stem before you adjust it lower you can then just screw it back out to where your 158's where ..

Gun control is hitting what your aiming at.
