Hornady LM ammo
I am going on an Elk hunt and am taking my 7mm-08.
Is the Hornady light magnum with 139gr spire point a decent bullet for elk or should I take Federal with Nosler partitions and give up 200fps?
This is Pacific NorthWest and unlikely to go more than 200 yds.
TIA.

I've used the hornady on deer and have been very happy with the way its performed but I would think it would be a little on the light side for elk , I think I would go with the Nosler just because its a better bullet 0 -
I agree 100 % with gskyhawk go with better bullet . 0 -
If you can put a 139gr Interlock 7mm bullet in the right spot on any elk, you'll sure eat good all winter.
Gun control is hitting what your aiming at.0 -
Go with the Nosler. Elk are big and tough, and a partion bullet is the best there is for elk.

Thanks!
I'll let you know how I do when I get back!0
