remington model 12 semi auto question

I am not 100% sure what you mean by a model 12 semi. If it is a shotgun you might mean the "Sportsman 12 auto". These were made in '85 and '86 only. They were an economy version of the 1100. At the same time they marketed the "Sportsman 12 Pump" which was an economy version of the 870. These were both in 12 gauge only which is where the "12" in the name came from. I have one of each. They are an interesting offering in the Remington line.

thats the one! it was the economy line 1100. so, you say they were limited in years eh?
