Stuck stock

Help me out guys. How would you go about seperating a stock and reciever that has been glassbedded together?? Any ideas other than destroying stock would be appreciated. [:(]

  If a release compound of anykind was put on the metal, you might be in luck. Place the stocked action in a deep freezer at least over night. Remove and while holding the stock use a rubber mallet and rap the underside of the bbl really hard. Hit it good...you wont bend or dent it. If no release was used it still might work, but don't be surprised if you're not in the market for new wood.

  Also, be sure and check that no compound has oozed past the 1/2 way mark on any part of the bbl or receiver. If so, cut it off so as not to let it physically capture the metal.

  About your only chance is to freeze it ... the colder the better.
  
  If you don't have a freezer, but have access to a CO2 extinguisher you can try that, just work in a very well ventilated area.
  
  Shrinkage (from the cold) will be different for the steel and the wood so getting the temp down then using a rubber or dead blow hammer might do the trick.
  
  Hope you didn't layout a lot of money for this rifle!

  Make sure to check the inside of the action and the box magazine for excess glass. It gets into the strangest places.
