Lubricating lightly is a good thing, but hopefully not in the chamber it self.
Or at least clean the chamber before firing it.
The brass needs to catch in the chamber not slide in it. A major amount of rearward thrust is involved here.

I am with JustC. The only guns that I can think of that had oil in the chamber are several of the early machine guns which used lubricated cartridges. 0
