best flashlight equiped pistols continued
Thinking about a flashlight equiped go to pistole
What are some good guns to look at? I am thinking on the lines of a glock look alike believe there the springfield XD's? But I am totally open to suggestions, I am not intrested in a glock Don't like the weight of them unloaded.
Or something else similar im looking in the 500 or less price range before the light. Also what are most of the handgun lights set up as pressure activated, or switch?
Any information is greatly apreaceated. This would be for home defense basically.
Please no discussion about tactics of using a flashlight just tell me about some guns that can handle them well.

My dad has a Sig and it handles pretty well.
Another that I've seen is the Walther P99 (a little out of my price)
but it's a nice piece0 -
Well ... I would go with the Beretta Vertec or with the Smith & Wesson Tactical series or the SigPro series. they all have the intergrated light rails. All of these models come in multiple calibers except the Beretta which only comes in 9 and 40. Either way you really cant go wrong ... I personally like the Beretta because you can use the loaded chamber indicator without actually having to look at the weapon.. you can feel if it is loaded or not. Those are my picks for pistols... but you said the weapon is soley for home defense.... then go with a shotgun-light combo. buy a Remington 870 for around 300.00. I think Surefire makes a weapon mounted light for under 250.00 There you go 500.00 dollars and peace of mind. 0 -

Thanks for those options, The reason I am thinking handgun over shotgun is first off concealment I can put it in a drawer and not worry about it whereas to have the shotgun ready I would have to lean it against the wall or in the closet loaded whereas I could have a full mag loaded for the handgun right beside it and not have to worry.
Please don't reply to this on why you would use a shotgun etc, I just want to know what pistoles can carry a flashlight well.0 -
Ok... well good luck on your purchases and I hope you find what you are looking for ........ 0 -
H&K USP's have tactical rails and come in 9MM, .40 and .45, in both compact and full sized models.
They shoot great, but you'll probably need to go used to find them in your $500 price range. I have a couple of them. Reliable and accurate. I have a friend who mounted a light on a .40 USP fullsized model, and it handled well.

The springfield XD's are nice pistols along the glock lines with an added grip safety. The light slides on the bottom rail and is operated with the weak hand thumb quite well. 0 -
