Hello given that tolerances are made so one is able to swap parts You "YOU SHOULD" be able to mount a shorter slide However it will look ODD the DUST SHIELD "forward part of frame in front of trigger guard" will stick out further then normal quote:"PRAISE THE HARDBALL GUN"

    thanks for the reply

i have decide to stick with the full length frame

the reason that i was inquiring was i am installing a full profile comp for a more custom look. i decided that the gov length with a high cap mag will give me the look that i want. will prob also put a red dot mount on it as well to top it off

Hello trere are 2n types of mounts for a red dot - I have been shooting a slide mounted Gilmore for many years with an aimpoint before that. This adds weight to the slide so you need to replace the recoil spring with a lighter one The frame or grip mount uses the same recoil spring but recoil drives me nuts feels like a big tuneing fork I shoot about 5K rounds a year in N.R.A. bullseye matches. If you can try both types of mounts on someones gun . quote:"PRAISE THE HARDBALL GUN"
