Savage 720 auto shotgun barrel"Browning patent"

I have a savage 720 shotgun whcih is a virtual copy of the early Browning a5. I want to knwo if you can use a browning barrelon this model since it is a copy. I want a vent rib barrel and my savage doesnt have one.

  why browning? contact savage! odds are they will be different bbl extensions and extractors....if i remember correctly.
