what kind of stock for HOWA Action

I am thinking about picking up a heavy barreled HOWA varminter from a buddy. I am getting a great deal since the current stock is really, really messed-up after his attempt to "refinish" it.

I also recently had to sell my remington 700 tactical rifle. I would like to take the howa and get it bedded in a nice synthetic varmint/tactical stock. What brand of stocks will it fit?? Will it fit any aftermarket stocks inletted for a Vanguard heavy barrel.

  Can't help with a synthetic, but Boyd's makes a good vented forestock "varminter" liminate for a very attractive price. I've built a couple of them and they makes a very stable platform for accurate shooting.

  If you don't see a listing for the Howa (Vangard) inlet, call and ask the maker. The inlet is just a cylinder similar to most other receivers made like the Remington, so you can get a semi-inlet with just the cylinder and have a gunsmith finish the inletting for your receiver and barrel. This is a common practice when you find a style that you like and yet the maker doesn't offer the inlet. Just be careful that the style allows for your action/barrel/magazine. Some styles won't fit the action and/magazine set up correctly.
