Combat Elite saftey question

The safety on my combat elite is not functioning correctly, if you pull the trigger while the safety is on, it doesn't fire, but you'd better have that thing pointed down range when you release the saftey cause it fires as soon as it is released, without pulling the trigger again. Is this something I can/should fix myself or should I be looking for a gunsmith?

If it is something I could do at home, could someone point me to some documentation on how to do it?

    Hello it sounds like either someone tried to do a trigger job or put in another safety on your pistol . At any rate to fix you must either change one or the other "HAMMER & SEAR" or "SAFTEY" The safety has a projection that sets VERY close to the legs of the sear with the safety on if this relationship changes you get your problem a new safty comes oversize in this area and you stone or file untill you get proper fit . It does not take a master pistolsmith to do this but when it comes to safety If you have not had experience I would take to a gun smith. quote:Praise the HARDBALL gun"
