Colt AR 15 Info

Can someone give me the rundown on features, etc on a Model R-6600 green label H bar 5.56 95%+ .I have someone who wants to make a trade and I need as much info on the AR to make an enformed decision. I'm finding so many different model numbers ,what years were they produced, what does green label mean and what does the R-6600 offer? Is there a blue book value on this gun?

    I don't think that the rifle in question is an AR-15. AR-15's are marked on the receiver "Colt AR-15". I'm guessing that the rifle is marked "Colt Match Target H-Bar". Whatever it is marked, that's what it is.

    According to S. Fjestad's Blue Book of Gun Values, Match Target H-Bar's were made 1986-1993, & have a 20" barrel (1 turn in 7). Some early ones will be in "pre-ban" configuration.

    A rifle of this type in 95% condition is a "shooter", not a "collector", so things like "pre-ban" & the color of the box label are irrelevant. The recent expiration of the so-called AWB renders "book" prices obsolete; you can do a Gunbroker SmartSearch on similar rifles to get an idea of the current market price of these guns.

    Green Labels do not have the Mag gaurd ramp. They have the old style Upper without the reinforcement around the rear. The reciever is a Gray color. The grip on some have finger groves some don't. Don't ask me why, I just seen them like that when they came into the store. They do not have a block installed in them with the pin.

    I received more info on this AR . On the receiver it has AR-15 A2 on the barrel it has HBAR SPORTER
    CAL. 223 C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7 HBAR
    SERIAL. SP 346XXX
    can't locate one in smart search to get more info or current value. Any more info would be much helpful. CAPY

    yup, typical green label Colt. Nothing special, still desired by some as Colt will probably never make another one marked "AR15"... nice rifle, sell for $1k-1.2k around here.

    Ask if it has a fence gaurd around the mag release. Also ask if it has a block along with the reinforced upper. If it has all these features with lug and large pin, It could be a good find. There were not many Green label boxed rifles that had all these features minus the block made.

    Blue lable's had a block and no lug. There are many out there that have changed out uppers with lowers. The price is high if it's in a box and the numbers match.

    $800 to $900 is more like it if you can find a buyer for the A-2 It is usually a slab side and does not have the raised mag release.

    Notice I said No "Lug" also. There were no blue labels without the block and had a Lug. These would have been Green label.
