Trouble with Llama Mini Max .45acp need help

Hello everyone,
I purchased a Llama Mini Max .45 tonight at a local sporting goods store and took it out to make sure it would work alright.It doesnt.Even without shooting it fresh out of the box it WILL not feed any hollow points and if I load an entire magazine of bullets (which is only 6 rounds) my follower? (the thing that guides my bullets up sticks at the bottom and my bullets just bouce around in the magazine and the gun malfunctions.I took it out and test fired it right after I bought it.I only fired 13 rounds and had 4 malfunctions and one malfunction was when I tried to shoot a full magazine the bullets just bounced around in the magazine.I was shooting 230 grain Remington UMC Full Metal Jacket bullets.What can I do to fix any of these problems especially the one with my magazine messing up the way it is.The guy in the store I bought it in said it would be reliable because it was based on the most reliable design ever.This is not my opinion of what reliable is.Some body please give some helpful tips here.

    That is like saying a YUGO is based on a BMW . Just IMHO but LLAMA did have some quality PROBLEMS polish the feed ramp might help the hollowpoint feed problem and the mag problem is the OAL of the 230 GRAIN might be too long or bad spring and follower try different mag .

    Get yourself a couple more mags, from cdnninvestments.com, polish the feed ramp real slick, use only FMJ ammo, and after a few hundred rounds, it should feed OK

    Classic and Perry are correct. Buy some new quality mags (check deltaforce.com) and have a gunsmith polish the feed ramp. Then go and shoot the crap out of it. After 1000 or so rounds your problem should be taken care of.

    I have an older llama big 1911 style 5", even has a vent rib cut in the barrel, its at least 40 yrs old (being my grandpa had it) its a darn good shooter and will feed anything. I don't know about the newer ones but this old work horse has been a good one.

    Its really hard to soar with the Eagles, when you are stuck with turkeys!

    Should I get another 6 round Llama mag or a aftermarket mag from another maker?

    Take the mag apart and file the follower to work w/o binding. Get a new mag- you need more anyway- and copy the angle of the follower and the top coil of the mag spring.

    Don't start hackin' on it, or spending more money on other mags., take it back to the store and have them deal with the problem.

    The problem with the Llama's is that their quality control is all over the board. If you get a good one out of the box it will last you quite a while with normal use. If you get a bad one ... they generally stay bad no matter how many times they go back.

    Of course I am assuming that you cleaned and lubed the pistol before you started firing it ... if not, try that and see what happens, but don't wait to long so you still have a chance of taking it back if it turns out to be a POS.
