A while back I asked about 6mm wildcats. You brought up the 6x47. I have gotten interested in it,but can find very little information. It is not listed in my Cartridges of the World. The only reference I can find in my small library is in Modern Reloading by Richard Lee. It has a (very) few loads listed and a diagram of cartridge dimensions with measurments but no explanations. It says the case length is 1.850 but doesn't say if this is the maximum length or trim to length. The measurement for OAL just says To Fit Chamber. Where can I find more detailed info on this cartridge? From what I can tell I just expand the case mouth to 6mm and fireform to fit my chamber. Is this correct? Is there an AI version of this cartridge? I use Redding dies for my rifle loading but can't find a listing of this round either as 6/.222 Rem Mag or 6x47. I did find the 6/.223 and the 6/.22-250.I did find new Remington brass in .222 Mag listed in my Sinclair book. What twist rate would you recommend for a 70-80 grain bullet? I think the Sierra 70Grain HPBT Match looks like a good bullet to start with. Any suggestions you have will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
