My friend has a Remington semi-auto in 270 Win. cal. serial #A4039769 On the side of the reciever is marked Model four with the four spelled out, not # 4. I have not been able to find such a model # except the old rolling block model. It has a Redfield scope and is in excellant condition. Value?.

  The "Blue Book" that everyone quotes says $360. in "excellent" conditin. It was made from 1981-1987.

  The Model Four had some changes from the M 740/742; the most noticeable was the bolt. The 740/742 had interupted thread lugs where as the Model Four had dual opposed lugs, reminiscent of the M-14, but I guess it didn't work as well as the M-14 because I htink Remington went back to the interupted thread bolt.
