Remington Custom KS Mountain Rifle?
Hi, I buoght what was suppose to be a Remington custom ks mountain rifle. However when I showed it to another guy he told me that it was not and was just a gun built on a Remington action. Can anybody shed some light on this for me, marking are as follows. Action: C6211917 Remington Model 700. Barrel: 7mm Rem Mag. than what looks like an X followed by L1 the other side of the barrel has a triangle with a B inside an oval with REP inside and then a 55 stamp. The stock looks like a KS stock and the recoil pad says Remington. What made he start to think is when the guy pointed out the barrel had no Remington markings. Any ideas.

It sounds like you may have a Remington barrel since the XL would correspond to Remington month/year markings for December 1991. My M700 w/factory barrel also has REP stamped on it, but I don't know what it indicates. 0 -
Look up Remingtons customer service dept. phone number and give them a call, I've not dealt with rem but Ruger and Winchester are easy enough to deal with about that sort of thing. They should be able to look at the ser.# and tell you exactly what gun it left the factory as.

my pard's KS in 300win only says 300win on the barrel. Does it have a break? a fiberglass stock? how soft is the recoil pad?
why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

The barrels on the guns out of the Remington custom shop are marked differently than the regular production guns ( supposed to be better quality bbls ). The have some specific simple marking that identifies it as from custom shop but it escapes me what it is right now.......... give them a call or email customer service from their home page............... good luck...........[8D] 0
