Model 12

I have a model 12 with a ventilated rib that slides on from the front and is held with 2 very small pins..about .060. These have sheared allowing the rib to slide forward and fall off. Where can I get new pins? I am in central Illinois. Thanks

    My neighbor has a model 12 solid rib there is no bluing left on the shotgun, 30" full barrel. The furniture is is poor condition, The date of manufacture is 1936. Any idea of value?

    No longer a collectable piece, and a real shame that somebody decided to mess with a fairly rare Model 12. Current value is as a shooter, $250 - $300.

    No value except as a shooter. If you want a shooter don't get the nickel steel,get a Winchester Proof Steel marked gun. The model 12 is the greatest shotgun ever produced.

    Welcome to the forum hivoltage! Well first off you don't say what guage it is, 12, 16, or 20? If it has the standard Simmons rib, ( with oval posts) I can tell you that would cost close to $400, alone. But that does not translate to $400 of added value. "Very nice wood" doesn't tell me much. Is it plain field grade wood, or is it checkered? It sounds like maybe someone set it up for Skeet shooting? I agree that this gun is now just a "SHOOTER", however, it may be worth a lot more than some have said. If Simmons didn't over polish the barrel, meaning all the stampings are sharp and clear, not "washed out" from polishing, it has value just by itself, along with all the parts. If it's a 12ga. as a gun, I've seen them go for $300-$500, on the parts market, you can expect $400-$600, again this would be for a 12ga. If it's a 16 or 20ga. more, but that vintage of gun in a smaller guage had a short chamber, not 2&3/4.
