Two questions.
1) Would "proper" installation of scope base on AR-10 require anything else but sliding the base itself into the V-groove on top of the caring handle and tightening the finger nut?
2) Colt SAA, serial # 81xxxxSA (made in 1976???). Will it be 2nd or 3rd generation?
Thanks.

Hello most most any colt with a Sa SUFFIX is thought to be 2nd gen BUT in truth Thrid gen guns started at 80000SA and went to 90500SA then went to SA1001 - so the answer to your question is it is a thrid gen gun. 0 -
Thank you for your answer. This is what I said. But I bought it anyway! ($1000) Guy who sold it said that, Colt didn't make any SAA's in 1975 and 1976 production year SAA's were all assembled with 2nd generation parts and components left over from 1974. So the inn's and out's on my gun are exactly the same as any 2nd generation SAA. Anyway, thanks again. 0
