novice needs trigger info

On my 1911 Colt, after I discharge a round and keep the trigger depressed, there is a point as I slowly release the trigger where it feels like the trigger resets and when I squeeze off another round from that point, the pull is much lighter and quicker. Is there a term for this type of trigger release? and do most other semi-auto pistols have that feature? Can I create it on the FAB-10 I built?

    We refer to it as "trigger reset". It it when the sear re-engages that you can feel and hear it. Once it is re-engaged the next shot can be fired.

    By using this method you cut down on unneeded trigger travel. It aids in quicker follow-up shots and better accuracy.

    Hello what you feel is the disconnect moveing up between the legs of the sear and the rear of trigger bow. The function of the disconnect is to keep the pistol from going full auto.ALL 1911 type pistols work this way as far as other guns one would have to look at a breakdown of the parts and understand the function of each part. quote:"praise the hardball gun"
