    the L461 action was indeed a work of art-like you say a miniture mauser so to speak. the fact that browning used the action for their safari rifles in the late 60s early 70s says something. H&R also used this action for their Ultra Wildcat says some too. Colt also got into the act briefly. All these actions were offered without the sako dovetails and were referred to as "roundtops". the L461 was replaced with the "AI" series-a cheapened version in my mind shortly after the Garcia Corp took over imports from Firearms Intl . that action had more cast parts and stamped checkering and inferior polishing and attention to detail but still a goodaction. I dont like the 75 so I would talk about it.

    cody45 makes a point that I have been wondering in general:

    Did the quality of Sako firearms suffer in general after the takevoer/merger with the Garcia group? Appears to be a disputable question.

    cody45...I'd be interested in why you do not like the Sako 75 Hunter.
