PLEASE HELP

I am looking for a J.P. Sauer & Sohn/Hawes 44 cal Montana Marshall.
I saw one on here last night for sale by "atrisha" the auction was set to end I think on 10/17/09 and I can't find it again. Anyone know how I might find it again or where I can find another?

    I was wondering if anyone knew the value of a Uberti model 1873 22LR Carbine? It is in 95% condition.I can't find any info on what it is worth. Please Help, Thanks

    A lot of people would recco a lever Marlin or Winchester. Good quality by long time makers. Reasonable price new and a lot of good ones in the used market. Check out the GB auctions to get and idea of the going prices, etc.

    winchester model 94. 200-300 for a good used one. last a lifetime. good luck.

    For the money, a used Savage bolt action 30-06 would be hard to beat. Also, used Model 70 Winchesters, or Remingtons in any of the 700 series are great. Still for the money,(often under $200 with a scope) the second-hand Savage 110 is THE gun.

    Go to a gunshow. Look for a Yugoslavian Mauser, or Turk.. or sporterized military rifle.. most any can be had for under $100 and will be a tack driver IF you make sure the bore is nice and shiney. If on a budget, a military surplus rifle cannot be beat.

    Stay with the Winchester model 70! Absolutely the best mass produced gun out there, for the money. And if you decided to buy one, you will have access to life time repairs from the factory, no questions asked.
    I have used, and owned almost every brand of firearm out there, and for my money, you can not go wrong with the model 70. And if comes in just about any ccaliber you can imagine!

    I have to agree with the model 70 crowd. You can pick one up used at a reasonable price and even new are not too bad. Lifetime is the key. Buy something that appeals to you. Over the last thirty years I have used model 94's, Savage 99's,Rem. 700's,Savage 110's and a few others all with pretty good success. Then I wanted a lifetime rifle, I chose a new model 70 Winchester featherweight classic in 7mm08 topped with a Weaver Grand Slam scope. It is a sweet shooting low recoil beauty. I could not be happier.

    Too bad you didn't tell us the type of hunting area you expect to hunt. Dense cover calls for one type,wide open calls for another.Strictly deer,deer and elk,maybe a trip to Alaska after BIG BEAR,deer and pop cans? I suppose that is why so many of us have so darn many rifles.I am not complaining but now at the end of my hunting life I find I have custom Mausers that I can't part with.They have become my children and I must take care of them til death do us part. Two sons in law who never hunted a day in their lives,one of whom never fired a BB gun, much less a firearm.They are raising my grandsons three hundred miles from me so limits my envolement with the little gents.OH woe is me..I'm sure they would wecome my guns with open arms and rejoice at their good fortune,until I was out of sight and then sell them to the first buyer they could find.OH double WOE.modoc

    Mine is only 40 years old...How long is a lifetime anyway[:)]. I totally agree, this is the first one I pick up when it comes to hunting season.
