Win mod 53 hammer

I have a Winchester model 53 lever action in a 25-20 caliper. The top end of the hammer is broken off. I would like to find a new hammer. Is the hammer from another Winchester lever, say a mod 94, interchangeable with my model 53? Thanks.

  The 53 is a Model 92 type receiver. My guess is that a 92 hammer would work.

  A hammer out of a later made Model 92, or a Model 65 would be correct for your Model 53. The Model 53 and 65 are variants of the Model 92.
