husqvarna 30.06

I have a husqvarna 30.06 that has both the king's hat image and Smith and Wesson stamped on the barrel. If anyone has any information on the value and history of this rifle please reply to this message.

    Here is one description of the Mannlicher style:

    "Model E, .270 maufactured for S&W by Husqvarna in 1968. Mannlicher style montecarlo stock is made in two pieces to relieve tension on the barrel. Has Husqvarna improved Mauser action with long external extracter. Sights are complete with hood and ramp. Some wear around quick detach sling swivels. Few handling marks in high gloss finish. Some blue wear around muzzle. 6 3/4lbs. Sold with this action for one year only.(1968?) The action was then changed to the 1900 action that utilized a plunger type extractor. S&W only sold these rifles for about three years. Nearly twins of the Husqvarna 456 rifles. Very limited numbers.Exceptional Swedish craftmanship!"

    I've seen these advertised for as little as $500.00 to as much as $1100.00 on other sites. They seem to sell in the area of $500.00 to $600.00 on average depending on wear and tear.

    The Smith & Wesson models A, B, C, D & E were all made by Husqvarna in Sweden. I own a Model A, 300 Win., and a Model B, 308 Win. The Model A is my favoraite rifle and I own over 60. They are a really good buy for the money. I bought both of them at gun shows; the Model A cost me $375 and the Model B $325. I'm looking for the others.

    Imported by Tradewinds in the 60's. I have a Model B in .243 with a gorgeous tiger striped stock. Well made and reliable.

    I am a Husqvarna collector and I can give you some more information from the model marking (A,B,C,D, or E), and the serial number.
