i bought a remington model 12 at auction. it came with a lyman tang site mounted on it. rear sight folds down, extends about an inch or better, only a small pin hole to look through (no larger disc as in pics i've seen), has an insert that folds forward, and is only stamped "lyman". on the sight end of the barrel, a sight is mounted that can be folded down to show just a bead, or folds up to give a "hooded" bead. i'm having some trouble finding a matching pic on the net, so was wondering if you've got some insight into rarity and value.
    thanks,
    bob
p.s. in looking at more pics, mine has 2 screws in baseplate, forward, left and right, not in line.

    Hello Bob...

Your Lyman tang sight is a No. 1 or 1A (if it has a locking lever on the left side). The front sight is a Lyman No. 5 series. The sights as a pair are worth about $250(if you were to sell them separately from the rifle). They are not rare, but are highly desired.
